New Rotations

 In Delegate's Corner

As we begin our new rotations, I know that we have the correct people to be of great service for our Area.

I would also like to introduce the strategy of gathering the Area’s conscience on the upcoming agenda items.  AA members will have some choices on how to participate in the process so I want to introduce it generally.  When the final agenda with background is released later this spring, we will have committees formed and ready to deliver their conscience on the agenda items.

Gathering an informed group conscience for the many agenda items at the upcoming General Service Conference is a significant undertaking, but it is one we are fully capable of achieving. While we navigate the rotations and maintain our focus on effective local service for the still-suffering alcoholic, I believe that our work on the General Service Conference agenda will ultimately strengthen our Area-facing efforts.

To prepare for the Pre-Conference Assembly, we will operate as follows:

  1. Committee Deliverables: Pre-conference committees will mirror the function of Conference committees. Each committee must review their assigned agenda items, hold a vote, and report the specific vote counts to our April Assembly members.
  2. Voting Members: Committee Chairs are responsible for establishing who constitutes a voting member within their committee.
  3. Committee Selection: Unlike previous years where districts were assigned, districts will now have the opportunity to choose which committee they wish to serve on. While some assignments may still be necessary to ensure balanced coverage, we encourage you to select a committee where you feel most engaged.

Hope to see you at the quarterly.

Yours in loving service,

Dan M
WSEA 92 Delegate, Panel 76
